Respect Life Committee

The Catholic Church proclaims that human life is a precious gift from God that must be respected and protected at every stage of its existence - from conception to natural death. Our committee seeks to spread this Gospel of Life to fellow parishioners and members of the community. 

We meet the second Wednesday of the month August thru May at 7 pm in the Upper Annex.   All are welcome to join us.  Contact Leslie Najjar at 314-369-5474 if you’d like to know more about our activities

Below are some of our activities:

• Invite our parish to participate in the Spiritual Adoption Program – pray daily for nine months for an unborn baby known by God to be at risk of abortion

• Send cards to the homebound of our parish
  
  
• Take turns praying at Adoration for Life for a greater respect for all human life on Tuesdays from 2 - 3 pm in the chapel

• Join other pro-life people in silent prayer on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood during 40 Days for Life Fall and Spring Campaigns

• Participate in Life Chain Sunday in October – pray for life on the sidewalk of Butler Hill Rd.

• Attend the Annual Respect Life Convention in St. Louis in October

• Pray during Nine Days for Life in January – a novena for the protection of human life 

• Attend the Annual Celebration of LIfe Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis in October

• Invite the parish to join in an Annual Baby Shower for Birthright of Hillsboro in the spring

• Make the parish aware of upcoming important legislation affecting life issues

• Inform parishioners of the resources available through the Abortion Healing Ministry of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. click here for more information.

• Inform parishioners that there is an effective process called Abortion Pill Reversal that gives an unborn child a second chance at life. Click here for more information

• Inform our parish of the help available to pregnant women in need. Women in the area can contact our St. Vincent de Paul Society and agencies listed here.

• Make the parish aware of the many resources available in our archdiocese for Families in Need beyond our own St. Vincent de Paul Society. Click here for more information
