I don’t know about you, but I am guilty of overconsumption. As a result, I often find myself with things I no longer need or use, and they end up in my basement. Sound familiar?
I have often heard the request, “Reuse. Reduce. Recycle.” When I hear this, I tend to focus on recycle. When I look in my basement, I realize it’s time to put a little time and attention into reduce and reuse.
Reduce is pretty simple. I have found that reducing my shopping has reduced my consumption. Duh. Reuse takes a little more effort. Here is a list of places that will distribute your unneeded items to those in need:
St. Vincent DePaul-- 314-881-6000 Home Sweet Home--314-448-9838 Habitat for Humanity “Restore”--314-531-4155 The Bridge--314-898-4028 House of Goods--314-833-3300 Good Will--314-842-9114 Salvation Army--314-646-3000
I am looking forward to purging myself of my unneeded “junk”. Isn’t it good to know that someone in need will see it as a treasure? How about you?
