This is an opportunity for households in St. Louis County, St. Louis City and Jefferson County to safely dispose of unwanted, hazardous waste from their homes. The first 50 pounds are free, every time you schedule a drop off. $1.70 a pound after the first 50 pounds.
Examples of some of the items they accept: Garden chemicals including pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer Gasoline, motor oil and filters, antifreeze, brake and transmission fluid, automotive freon, car/boat batteries Mercury-based items including thermometers Poisons, pool chemicals, aerosols, photography chemicals, Vape pens and cartridges Propane tanks, oxygen tanks and much more. There are separate fees for latex paint/water-based paint, which need to be in liquid form (not dried out) as they are turned into new paint. 50 cents a pound. These paints are not considered hazardous waste. There are ways to dry out latex paint, such as adding kitty litter, so the cans can be put in the trash. There are some things they cannot accept, including ammunition and tires. See their website or call for more information and to schedule a reservation.
