From blogger Roma Waterman: Not everyone experiences Easter the same way. For some, it’s a table full of family and laughter. For others, it’s serving in church, pouring out behind the scenes. Some are travelling, working, or simply trying to hold it all together… Don’t let the sacred slip by unnoticed. Here are 2 simple contemplative practices you can try— in the kitchen, in the car, in the quiet (or not-so-quiet) moments— to help you stay rooted in resurrection wonder:
Meditative Cleaning: Yes, it’s a thing! As you clean, let every task become a prayer. Examples: “Lord, as I clean my house, cleanse my heart. Make room in me for resurrection life.” Setting the table? “Prepare a table for those [yet to recognize] you. Cooking? “Jesus, you are the Bread of Life.” Sweeping? “Sweep away [what I must let go of].”
Light a Candle: Before you prep; take five quiet minutes; light a candle and pray: “Jesus, you are the Light in the darkness. As I pray, help me to remember the silence of the tomb today. Fill me with resurrection expectancy.” Let it burn while you work—a soft reminder of hope.
